The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences concedeu o The Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences in Memory of Alfred Nobel, de 2011, a Thomas J. Sargent, New York University, e Christopher A. Sims, Princeton University, "for their empirical research on cause and effect in the macroeconomy".
